The Ken Mawr adult choir meets each Wednesday evening from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for rehearsal. Anthems are selected to honor God and to support the scripture and message for the worship service. All who love God and singing are welcome to join the choir...really, no audition is needed.
The second week of July is a time of retreat for many youth and adults at a beautiful camp on Lake Erie - Camp Lambec. Students who have completed grade 3 through high school come together to praise God through music through both band and choir rehearsals. Evening Club, daily Bible studies, group activities and even free time provide a positive opportunity for those youth who love music to grow in their faith and express their love of God through music. Adult volunteers create a team of leadership to provide this great week for over 150 campers.
Opportunities for children in music ministry are guided by interest and availability throughout the year. Students are welcome to play their instrument(s) in worship, sing in small ensembles, play handbells and participate in dramas. Parents should contact Jayne McDonald to inquire about opportunities for children.
Three fun-filled mornings for children ages 3 - 8. Eurhythmics, singing, music activities and a Bible lesson combine to help students discover the basic elements of music. Pastor Karl shares a Bible story with the children at the end of the morning and snacks are provided. The 2016 camp was held June 14-16 from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Mini-music camp is free, but space is limited. Details for 2017 will be mailed in the spring.
